TOPICS & OBJECTIVES

1010 - Cycloalkanes
1010 - Name and draw cycloalkanes with 3 to 10 carbon rings.
1020 - Find carbon one, name, and draw substituted cycloalkanes.
1030 - Explain why 5 and 6 membered cycloalkanes are more common and more stable.

1020 - Alkenes & Alkynes
1010 - Find carbon one, name, and draw alkenes & alkynes with 3 to 10 carbon backbones.
1020 - Identify the product of a simple alkene reacting with a halogen.
1030 - Name and draw cis and trans alkene isomers (geometric isomers).
1040 - Identify the product of a simple alkene reacting with a halo-acid.
1050 - Determine which structural isomer results from reacting an alkene with a halo-acid.

1030 - Aromatics
1010 - Draw and name benzene, toluene, aniline, and phenol.
1020 - Draw and name substituted derivatives of benzene, toluene, aniline, and phenol.
1030 - Use and understand the common name prefixes ortho (o), meta (m), and para (p).
1040 - Predict the product of reacting benzene with ferric chloride (electrophilic substitution).
1050 - Predict the product of reacting benzene with alkyl halide and aluminum chloride (electrophilic substitution).
